M. Tech. or M. E. Courses in U V C E

The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, popularly known as U.V.C.E., is one of the most prestigious colleges in the State. The college was established in the year 1917, by none other than the greatest Engineer-Statesman of modern times, Bharata Rathna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
On the formation of Bangalore University in 1964, UVCE became one of the constituent colleges of Bangalore University. This prestigious technical institute imparts technical education leading to Bachelors of Engineering, Masters of Engineering, Masters of Science in Engineering degrees & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs across disciplines in Engineering & Architecture. UVCE has since completed over 93 years of academic excellence since its inception. The college operates out of two premises in Bengaluru – Jnana Bharathi campus & KR Circle campus.
UVCE has got  fallowing Engineering Departments to run Graduate Courses (B E), along with this it has also got Post-graduate  M E Degree Programs.
Post-graduate degree is called M E in UVCE where as in other universities give the equivalent degree it is M Tech( like VTU Belagaum, Manipa University).
In the year 2008 by the work of Principal Dr. Venugopal K R UVCE has got 10+ Post-graduate programs. This degeree programs will definitely help to decrease the demand for Faculty Positions in various Engineering Colleges in Karanataka and Accross the Country India and also helping the Graduate students to persue their Masters in various New course streams. I am also benifited by these new courses in 2008.
Department of Computer Science has got six M E courses in 2008, they are
  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Networks (Started from 2008)
  • Software Engineering (Started from 2008)
  • Web Technology (Started from 2008)
  • Bionformatics (Started from 2008)

    Regarding GATE scholarship:
Its hard to get scholarship here,
    But fees will be less...

    1. Nikhil: Congrats, Even if you are planning for Teaching don't worry.
Web Technology is a good branch, Branch not matters at all for placements and internships, its what skills you posses. Refresh your basic skills(CSC) now itself. Learn the core subjects of WT..
Note: Internship starts in the beginning of II sem..

  7. if you are looking for better placements and internship RV, SJCE mysore, BMS, UVCE, PES, MSRIT, u can choose them blind foldedly and when it comes to the matter of scholarship yes even i heard that the students in RV had faced problem in getting the scholarship the previous year. but they will get and it would have been late actually they get after completion of 1 year as of what i have heard....

You give preference as RV BMS UVCE SJCE UVCE MSRIT and PES which will be a better option according to my opinion...
Students will be getting 8000/- rs per month ie 96000/- per year
and try till the last rounds....
